1st XI

The Ballymena Cricket Club 1st XI is the flagship team of the club, proudly competing in the NCU Senior League 2. The 1st XI represents the pinnacle of club cricket at Eaton Park, striving for competitive success and upholding the legacy of one of Ulster's oldest cricket clubs. 

Our primary mission is to compete at the highest level of NCU club cricket, challenging for league titles and prestigious cup competitions, including the NCU Challenge Cup.

• Competitive Excellence: We demand the highest standards of skill, fitness, and tactical awareness from our squad, working tirelessly to secure victories and progress in the league standings.

• Club Representation: The 1st XI acts as the visible face of Ballymena Cricket Club, setting the standard for sportsmanship, discipline, and commitment that filters down through all other senior and junior teams.

The 1st XI is comprised of the most talented and committed players in the club, including:

• Club Professionals/Overseas Players: Key international or high-level players who bring experience and match-winning ability to the squad.

• Senior Core: Dedicated local players who form the backbone of the team and provide leadership both on and off the pitch.

• Junior League Graduates: High-potential young players promoted from the 2nd XI who are ready to make a consistent impact at the senior level.

Commitment to the 1st XI is absolute, reflecting the competitive demands of NCU Section 2 cricket.

• League: NCU Senior League (Section 1)

• Match Day: Fixtures are played every Saturday afternoon throughout the season, with cup fixtures often scheduled midweek.

• Training: Full attendance is expected at all senior training sessions on [Insert Senior Training Nights, e.g., Tuesday and Thursday] at Eaton Park, with additional fitness work encouraged.
