The Ballymena 4th XI is often the first step into senior cricket for many of our youngest players and is the perfect environment for social members, beginners, and those returning to the game. Competing in the NCU Junior League 11, the 4s place a strong emphasis on enjoyment, learning, and friendly competition.
The 4th XI is arguably the most important team for the club's long-term future, serving as our primary introduction to senior cricket.
The Learning Curve: We focus on ensuring junior players (U14s and U15s) get significant time at the crease and opportunities to bowl, building confidence in a relaxed, supportive environment.
The Social Side: This team is ideal for members who value the camaraderie and social side of the club. If you can only play sporadically, or are new to the game, the 4s welcome you.
Mentorship: Experienced players and parents often fill the ranks, acting as mentors and ensuring the spirit of the game is upheld, win or lose.
League: NCU Junior League [Insert Current Section]
Match Day: 4th XI fixtures are often played on Saturday afternoons or, occasionally, on Sundays, depending on the league schedule.
Training: Players are encouraged to attend the main senior training sessions on [Insert Senior Training Night, e.g., Tuesday and Thursday] at Eaton Park.
